OUR STORY

OPC Australia was founded in 2017 following the success of OPC UK and inspired by similar objectives.

Founded by Professor David Price in 2006, Optimum Patient Care (OPC) is a not-for-profit social enterprise with over 14 years experience of supporting quality improvement activities and research across England, Scotland, Wales, Australia and Northern Ireland.

OPC prides itself in building a network of over 800 GP Practices across the UK working together to improve the care and management of asthma and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)  patients through ethically approved research. OPC offers the following services at no cost to GP practices and CCGs across the United Kingdom:

  • Quality improvement program to support annual re-validation (currently asthma & COPD)
  • Enhanced quality data collection (Questionnaires, improved coding)
  • Research support (database, phase IV and V trials)
OPC is supported by an extensive range of clinical experts as part of the OPC Clinical Expert Advisory Board, being a group of leading respiratory experts ensuring the best possible clinical service is provided.
